Animal Testing Using Cloned Animals, is it ethnical?

After I read this article, many questions coming to my head. Is it ethnical to use cloned animals to do animal testing for medical research? From patient’s perspective, it’s better than use human directly to test a new drugs or prescriptions.

One of my questions is: is it ethnical to use cloned animals to do animal testing for medical research just because they’re “created” by human? Yes, they might not exist if we’re not cloning them. But they are still animals! They do have feelings (although some of you don’t actually agree that animals’ feeling do matters)! As an animal lover, I think it’s cruel to use them as “victims” to test the drugs for us.

Are there other alternatives? Yes, perhaps. Computer modelling might be a solution, provided it gives a very precise predictions on the tested results. Of course, after medical researchers done testing on animals for the drugs they still need to test them on human before they can actually use them officially.

So what do you think about this issue?
