This RO-like game is recommended by my husband. Originally, I don’t quite like this game because I prefer games with story lines like Final Fantasy series or quest-completing games like Diablo II. Well, since this is an MMORPG game, I can’t compare it to others non-online games.
At the start of the game, you’ll have to choose a character from four. They are Lance (handsome guy), Ami (cute little girl), Carsise (big macho guy), and Phyllis (a sweet lady). You may have a maximum of three characters for each server. Each type of characters will have their own special abilities and jobs that they can work on. If you played or playing RO, you’ll know what I mean.
Basically, this game allows you to upgrade characters’ levels, choose class (jobs), learn new skills, etc to make your characters stronger. Despite of defeating monsters to upgrade your levels, you may accept and complete the quests that given by NPC to earn experience points, money (currency unit is G) as well as valuable items.
You may also team up with passers-by to form a temporary party. All of the party members will share experience points. The “temporary” means you can “kick” members out of your party if you are the party leader, and once you logged out of the system, the party will terminate automatically.
Like RO, you can form or join guilds. But there are requirements to do that. The requirements are:
- Your character must be Level 40 and above.
- Your character must have 100000G.
- Your character must have Stone of Oath.
To create a guild, you must find certain NPC in order to create one. You may also recruit members, kick existing members, and organize a Guild War.
You might notice that, the name of the game. Yes, Pirate King Online. So, you are allowed to build ships. With the ships, you may set sail to other places and sell your items at the harbour.
Another interesting feature of this game is you can change your appearance. With some required items, you may change your hairstyle, haircolors and etc.
Other than that, you can own a pet. The pet will helps you while you’re battling. There are various kinds of pets available. Each of them have their own specialized skills. You can also feed them with some special food to increase their attributes.
Sounds interesting? Ok, this game is free to play. If you want to purchase special items that you might not be able to get it in the game, you can purchase top-up cards and obtain RUM points.
